Biblical names and combinations of couples in the Bible.
Words coded to Strong's Concordance and Brown Driver Briggs is also used here.
Just a short study, here.
1. Zacharias and Elisabeth
Zacharias
G2197
Ζαχαρίας
Zacharias of Hebrew origin H2148
H2148 זכריהוּ זכריה zekaryâh zekaryâhû, zek-ar-yaw', zek-ar-yaw'-hoo
From H2142 and H3050; Yah has remembered
H2142 זכר zâkar zaw-kar' A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember
H3050 יהּ yâhh BDB Definition: Yah (YHVH in the shortened form)
Elisabeth
G1665 Ἐλισάβετ Elisabet el-ee-sab'-et Of Hebrew origin [H472]
H472 אלישׁבע 'ĕlîysheba‛ el-ee-sheh'-bah From H410 and H7651 (in the sense of H7650); God of (the) oath
H410 אל 'êl ale Shortened from H352; strength; as adjective mighty; especially the Almighty
H7651 שׁבעה שׁבע sheba‛ shib‛âh, sheh'-bah, shib-aw' From H7650;
H7650 שׁבע shâba‛ shaw-bah' A primitive root; properly to be complete, but used only as a denominative from H7651; to seven oneself, that is, swear
If you put the two names of Zacharias and Elisabeth together, we get the phrase:
“YHVH has remembered His oath”.
If you remember from the story, Zacharias was visited and told what would happen. And indeed, YHVH did remember his oath to them both.
2. David and Bathsheba
David
H1732 דּויד דּוד dâvid dâvîyd, daw-veed', daw-veed' From the same as H1730; loving
BDB Definition:
David = “beloved”
H1730 דּד דּוד dôd dôd, dode, dode From an unused root meaning properly to boil, that is, (figuratively) to love; (interesting, that)
Bathsheba
H1339 בּת־שׁבע bath-sheba‛ bath-sheh'-bah From H1323 and H7651 (in the sense of H7650)
H1323 בּת bath, bath From H1129 (as feminine of H1121); a daughter
H7650 שׁבע shâba‛, shaw-bah' A primitive root; properly to be complete, but used only as a denominative from H7651; to seven oneself, that is, swear
BDB Definition:
Bath-sheba = “daughter of an oath”
Together, we get the phrase, “the beloved, the daughter of the oath”
If you are to understand that Israel is considered as the woman in Revelation, we can see that this woman gave birth to a son. Who is this son?
David and Bathsheba gave birth to Solomon.
H8010 שׁלמה shelômôh, shel-o-mo' From H7965; peaceful
Prior to Solomon's reign as king, we see that he was Prince Solomon. “Prince of Peace”. He was to become the King of Peace, one day. When did this happen?
Son 3:11 Go out, O daughters of Zion, and look upon King Solomon, with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, on the day of the gladness of his heart.
The Messiah spoke of so much when he said, “I go away to prepare a place for you.” This is the very same thing a groom would do at his espousal to his wife, with the Ketubah. This was the marriage contract. The rights and responsibilities of the bride were delineated in this marriage contract. While she was left to prepare herself as a spotless bride for her beloved, he was to go and prepare a place for them both, wherein they would live forever more!
This King of Peace is ready to receive His bride, but at the moment, he has not been crowned King, just yet. He will receive his kingship when he receives his own bride. And He will then come back to earth as King! This is clearly spelled out in the Bible. Look in Revelation. :-)
For this short paper, there is one more name I'd like to look at. The name is:
3. Eliezer
Eliezer
H461 אליעזר 'ĕlîy‛ezer, el-ee-eh'-zer From H410 and H5828; God of help
H410 אל 'êl , ale Shortened from H352; strength; as adjective mighty; especially the Almighty
H5828 עזר ‛êzer, ay'-zer From H5826; aid: - help.
We see the story of Avraham sending out his servant, Eliezer, to find a bride for his son (Yitzach). (Gen 24:2; Gen 15:2).
So here, we see a picture of The Father, sending out His helper (Ruach HaChodesh) to bring a bride back to His Son, Yeshoshua.
As was indicated previously, YeHoshua is the Prince of Peace, soon to be King of Peace. He has gone to prepare a place for us (His Bride) who will be spotless, without blemish.
Rav Shaul wrote:
Heb 13:6 So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"
He was quoting from Psalm 118:6,7a: The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The LORD is on my side as my help
The word for “help” here comes from:
H5826 עזר ‛âzar, aw-zar' A primitive root; to surround, that is, protect or aid: - help, succor.
